Five things you need to own NOW

The summer wedding invite season has begun, so if you’re getting gold envelopes in through the post box and a wave of what-to-wear anxiety is washing over you, then it’s time to take action and plan in advance. The early invitee gets the sartorial worm, so to speak.

the dress

A lot of weddings these days specify formal/evening wear on the invite, so the key to a killer outfit that doesn’t look over the top, is to choose a dress that stradles both day and evening. This adorable mid lenth pleated dress will look just as adorable in the sunshine as it will under the disco lights. It has a flattering V neck for those who want to flaunt their decolloté and the three tiers will elongate and lengthen. Its super easy to accessorise as well – just hit up Penneys for some shiny metallics that won’t break the bank.

the earrings

We are always a fan of #wearingirish on Gimme Fashion. This pair of 18ct Yellow Gold, Pearl and Onyx earrings was inspired by Irish Chieftain Grace O’Malley. They are insanely pricely so we’re talking an investment piece here. If you’re on a budget Accessorize are doing a splendid range of drop earrings at aorund the €4 mark.

the glasses

No outfit is complete without a pair of oversized sunnies. These cheap and cheerful ones take over half your face, ergo, total glamour! Plus they are quite literally rose tinted!

the bag

You can always rely on Dune for top accessories in literally every colour combination. This adorable clutch in pink and red is the perfect match.

the shoes

Long before there was was Louboutins or Jimmy Shoo’s there were Stuart Weitzman who has been designing quality foorwear since the 50s, he also famously designed the most expensive pair of shoes in the world – a pair of platinum sandals embedded with 464 diamonds worn by actress Laura Harring to the Oscars in 2002 with over a million dollars. While these be cost considerably less they are still a bit of an out lay, but I think you’ll agree, are fabulous.
