Five things you need to own NOW

Got the new pencil case feeling yet? Itching for a new coat, new shoes and pristine copy books? Well if last week’s dreary, showery. miserableness is anything to go by many of us will be glad to get this seasonal transition over with already. To cheer us up though, we’re abandoning the notion of netflix and cosy nights in and instead focusing on going out gear.

the shorts

Shorts are not just for summer. These beauts from River Island show the best of whats to come for AW 17 – metallics with a 70s twist. The elastic waist makes these supremely comfortable to wear, while the bow details save the shape from looking too boy scouty.

the boots

If AW 17 is to be summed up in one colour its red, and all variations thereof. Scarlet, wine, cherry, crimson were all present and correct on the catwalks from Valentino (who has its own shade – Valentino red) to Alexander McQueen‘s pillar box creations, all shades of rouge were celebrated on the runways. Of course this has distilled down to the high street, and New Look is first out of the traps with the hue to be viewed in.

boots, €84.99,

the bag

This bag is made to be touched and admired, what a worthy vessel for your precious cargo (wallet, keys, phone, of course lippie – natch). Bedazzled, bejellewed and beautiful.

bag, €49.50,

the top

To counteract the overall opulence of the outfit, we’ve gone for a black top which will offset the bag and shoes nicely. Not totally plain though, it has some ruffles and cap sleeves for added effect.

the ring

We always love it when a new Irish jeweller comes to our attention. Emer Roberts has a sculptural background which is evident in the 3d look of her silver and gold pieces. Her first collection “ignites the contemporary and modernist mood she favours. Elaborating upon the deco era and architectural design highlights her making processes.”  The only tiny problem is the lack of sizing on her website (that and the price). However this is a forever ring, worth the investment.
